Fifty Pence Piece

I met a man today
The creases of his face
Made me feel young
He sat in his baseball cap
And said he didn’t want to take
Too much of my time
But if I didn’t mind were there
Any special fifty pence coins
He collects
My mind was elsewhere
And maybe at first
I shrugged him off
But I look over again and I see
That baseball cap
And this patient look he has
So I stop my life for a moment
And I search through every
Coin I have
And I’m just glad I could give him
Six of his special fifty pence pieces
To give him
Something for his time
