Reflections

Felt or crayon, bold bright patterns,
A nice colour, you are pink
Take a look
No not me.

Tear up that commanding rainbow,
Let me be that shade of blue
Take a look
What do I see?

Doll or cooker, purple push chair,
A little girl, she plays house
Take a look
No not me.

Give me the cold harsh muddy banks,
Intended for boy’s mischief
Take a look
What do I see?

Glass or water, front camera,
A reflection, that’s you there
Take a look
No not me.

Fracture that mirror smash it up,
It’s not who I’m meant to be
Take a look
I do not see me.
